Wondering what to do with your leftover sourdough? Older bread may begin to dry, but it's still good to eat. We recommend toasting it to freshen it up and give it a crunch. With a little more time on your hands, you could also turn it into croutons.

Trim off the bread crusts, and cut into small pieces about half an inch square (there's no need to be too exact, you just don't want too large a chunk as they won't toast properly). Put the cubes in a bowl, lightly sprinkle with some olive oil or melted butter, and toss, to coat. Then bake at 150°C for 20-30 mins, or fry until golden brown.

These are great with soups or sprinkled on salad, or just eaten as a tasty snack. Don't have the time? We also sell both sweet and savoury sourdough croutons

This week we tried them with a pumpkin soup!
